'When the Wine is Cold' is a play set in the 1970s on New York City's 'Skid Row', a nickname given to the Bowery area of the city from the 1940s to the 1970s, when it was known as a place where you would find many down-and-out alcoholics and people who had nowhere else to live.
With themes of homelessness and addiction, it is a powerful, gritty play. It is Balally Players' entry in this year's One Act Festival.
Before the the production was taken to various venues as part of its participation on the One Act Circuit, When the Wine is Cold was in the Maureen O'Hara Studio in the Mill Theatre, for three performances, on 28 to 30 October 2014.
